Q1:  If a couple is under 20 and enrolls in the NHI as the dependents of their parents, how should their baby enroll in the NHI?

A1:   Complete a declaration (statement) and enroll in the NHI as the dependent of his grandparents. Complete the in-law declaration (statement) if the mother enrolls in the NHI as the dependent of her own parents when the husband is serving his military service. If the father has not yet enrolled in the NHI, he must enroll in the NHI with an appropriate status. The baby should be enrolled in the NHI as the dependent of the father; i.e. both the father and the baby should enroll in the NHI together.

Q2:  The couple is under 20 and how should they enroll in the NHI after marriage?

A2:   If both are under 20, they may enroll in the NHI as the dependents of the parents. If any one of a couple has a job, the unemployed party should enroll in the NHI as the dependent of the other one. If one of the couple enrolls in the NHI as the dependent of his parents, the parents-in-law who have been enrolled in the NHI as his dependents must enroll in the NHI independently through the township/town/city/district office.
