Please make better use of post offices near you to apply for NHI IC card renewal
Content： For greater convenience and to save time, citizens living in rural areas are recommended to go to their nearby post office when they wish to renew their NHI IC cards.

You may apply for NHI IC card replacements at any post office in the following situations: you lose your card, your IC chip is damaged, you are replacing your photograph, or you are changing your personal information (i.e. name). Please obtain the “NHI IC Card Application Form” from the post office and send the completed form with a copy of your personal ID card (both sides), a 2” photograph taken recently and a processing fee of NT$ 200.

If you are applying for your NHI IC card for the first time (i.e. newborns, newly hired foreign laborers), the NT$ 200 processing fee will be waived and you can simply send your application in by registered mail to our branch at No. 36, Hsuan Yuan Road, Hualien City (Post Code 970, telephone no: 03-8332111 or 0800-030598). If you are applying for a NHI IC card on behalf of another person, you must provide the personal identification documents (original copy) for yourself and the person you are representing.
